We visit Pigeon Forge and Dollywood several times a year, and we’ve tried many of the closest hotels to the park. Today, we are here to show you the best hotels near Dollywood so you can make a decision on what’s best for your family!
If you are heading to the area mainly for Dollywood, it makes sense to stay nearby, and that’s what we normally do. From this location, you will be right at the edge of Pigeon Forge with easy access to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Dollywood area is just off the Pigeon Forge Parkway with lots to do if you are in town on a day the park is closed or just want something else to do while you are in town.
For our favorite Pigeon Forge hotels, we have described the types of rooms available, which is important for us as a family of 6, as well as the amenities, distance to Dollywood, star rating and the estimated time it will take to drive to Dollywood (depending upon traffic of course!).
We have also added a list of some other nearby hotels that we haven’t stayed at yet in case you want more options.
Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort
This Four-Star Hotel is very nice, and provides a tram service to Dollywood to guests! They have fun activities for the kiddos with their Camp DW program as well. (You can see all of the Dream More Resort activities for kids in our guide here!).
If you have a larger family, there is only one type of room that you can all stay together in, which is the junior suite. This suite sleeps 6 and is the largest available. If you have more than 6 in your party, you’ll have to get a second room.

Mountain Vista Inn & Suites
This location is perfect for those not only doing Dollywood on their trip! It is a short walk from the Island, Pirate Dinner Show, and other attractions. We stayed here during a Christmas trip, and while it isn’t a luxury hotel by any means, the price was great, the pool was indoors and heated and the kids had a great time.
From our window on the top floor in our 3 bedroom suite we could see fireworks from Dollywood at night and we had a wonderful view of the Island.
This hotel has been undergoing renovations and it’s much nicer for 2023.

- Small heated indoor pool (be aware if you come during the cold months that you will have to go outside, take the elevator, and walk outside back to your room)
- Family rooms – this was a big one for us as we like to get one room for our family of 6 when we can’t get a cabin for a decent price

Comfort Inn & Suites at Dollywood Lane
This Hotel gives a modest stay and is decently close to some Pigeon Forge favorites! The rooms are generally nice and the checking in/out process is easy. It is located near Dolly Parton’s Stampede dinner show.

This hotel is a great choice with straight-forward rooms, free hot breakfast, and an indoor pool! It is walking distance from Pigeon Forge attractions such as the Hollywood Wax Museum and the Titanic Museum.

Final Thoughts on Hotels Near Dollywood
There is no shortage of hotels in Pigeon Forge near Dollywood. Personally, for our family, it comes down to hotel prices first, how nice they are and then proximity. When we were single we stayed at some super cheap hotels, but with the kids we try to stay at places that are a little nicer. They don’t have to be luxury hotels, but we do expect something clean and comfortable.
Honestly when we take a road trip to the Gatlinburg area we don’t spend a lot of time in our room so it’s not super important to us that it has a lot of amenities. A free breakfast is a huge perk, though, with four growing boys, so that is something we consider when we choose a hotel vs cabin.
All of the hotel rooms we’ve stayed in have had basics like a hair dryer, free wi-fi, coffee maker in room and a separate bedroom area for mom and dad, while others even had private balconies, gas fireplaces and spacious guest rooms.
The Dollywood theme park and Splash Country water park are great places to visit and we head out that way several times a year. It’s fun for the entire family!
